Why you should read: The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K Le Guin

A beautiful book, but best read in the depths of winter

The left hand of darkness is a wonderful book. Full of human & alien struggling...

Let's take a look at the book through the lens of it's various covers:

These covers show the major themes of ice ❄️, fire 🔥 and an epic journey 🚶‍♀️.

Then this cover! Ice again, sure but the core duality of the book is uncovered here (and this is actually my favorite cover). The duality of alien and stranger, man and woman, lover and friend, enemy and friend.

And then... darkness emerges

"To learn which questions are unanswerable, and not to answer them: this skill is most needful in times of stress and darkness."

If all of that isn't enough apparently it's coming to TV!

Go read it!
